As everyone asked, I am gonna start writing in English for everyone!
I am brazilian and live in Santa Monica for 8 years. Lets talk about VENICE BEACH today!
Scenario of mess and art, a lot of people don't like it there, but most of people are fascinate by it's daring feeling.
Skaters, musicians, art everyone in its walls and floors, people dress and undressed the way it feels more comfortable, and nobody is judge by their appearances and styles. Sounds like a dream to you?... It's right down there close by the beach on Venice boardwalk.
Venice Boardwalk is known by their crazy shows, funny and different people, art crawls and artisans.
A lot of skaters and the pool where they show off their awesome skills.
Although if you are not from California, you will feel certain weird smell in the air. Venice is also known by the place with most "potheads" or "stoners" in LA. It's super easy to get a medical card, since there are aka doctors at every corner advertising their prices starting at $40. With your marijuana card in hands, you can go to any weed store, dispensary, and purchase your favorite herb, edible or oils, for fun or... if it's really necessary, health.
Parking
Parking is always a concern if you live in the city of angels, Los Angeles ❤️
Venice is not different. The parking lots are up to $30 on weekends, a little cheaper during the week.
There are meters everywhere, so make sure to put a good amount of time to walk around to the Venice pier and back, at least an hour to feel safe, because the parking meters cops are always around trying to get you another ticket. 😉
If you want to try, there are some street parking on Venice Way, right after the roundabout coming from the Main Street in Santa Monica, keep on going straight and you will see a long street, its pretty close to the Venice sign. Make sure to look all the signs before you park. A lot of conditions for parking in LA.
